What Have You Learned Through Blogging?
I haven’t really learnt anything this year about blogging prefere MySpace better because you can see who you are talking too because people have photos.
What Would You Say To Other Year 8’s About the Possibility of Blogging in Year 8 English Next Year?
I think that some girls will like and most of the others will find it really boring. Blogging isn’t that good because you usually have a bit of a boring topic. I don’t recommend it.
Some people say that blogging is just a different way of learning. What do you say about the possibility of using blogs to learn?
I don’t think you learn using blogs. I havent learnt anything this year/ You could learn something if you read an information entry but other wise no.

What does it mean to be a producer of information versus a consumer of information?
A good teacher makes a class interesting not boring. They should use fun methods for say… keeping us quiet. Like the noise snail. They should praise us with lollies and maybe raffle tickets. A good teacher should make a boring classroom a colourful and fun place to be. They should always be friendly and fun!
To be a good learner is listening and absorbing the information in class or in other places too. It is also learning from the mistakes you have made and making sure you fix them so you know that you have definetly learnt from them. The qualities of a good student are being able to complete homework tasks on time and being able to take on tasks to help a teacher. I don’t know what to expect of this because I don’t know all their personal strengths. But I do hope that they might listen to the teachers a bit more like when the teachers tell them to be quiet the first time, they will. It’s really frustrating when it’s the same people not being quiet when they are supposed to and the whole class gets punished for their actions!
To have a good learning environment is to be able to concentrate well and be able to learn what you need to learn. Like there are some teachers who go over the subject briefly and then expect us to know everything on the test really well. Then there is other teachers who really go over it and make sure we are really ready for our test so we can do really well. A good learning environment is also being able to study without being interupted.

Hey my name is Karina. I am 14years old and i go to Mater Christi. I am a generally happy person and i loooovvveee to dance! Hehe it’s soo fun!. I love hanging with my friends and going shopping. Something that i would really love to happen but it won’t is that Knox was closed and it was just me and my friends allowed in but every shop was open and you could just take what you want for free! That would be awesome! My dream is to become rich, have a good job, and family and to win the lottery. I love talking on msn to friends and playing Sims when i’m bored. I enjoy most type of music but no depressing heavy death metal stuff. My favourite subject at school is Art and Sport but i get to Cheerlead as well which is fun. So that’s me for ya!
Love Karina
P.S. please comment on my blog cos no one does and thats really sad

What was it like to be an evacuee?
One little boy called Clifford thought being evacuated was very exciting, but that it was also strange and frightening. Also that most of the mothers did not go away with their children so the children were confused about where they were being sent or who they were going to live with. Some of the kids found being evacuated miserable and others found that they had many fantastic adventures. Before the war started lots of children were living in towns and cities so they had never been to the country side and were absolutely amazed when they saw all the cows and the sheep for the first time in their life. It would have been a huge for Clifford to go back to the city after living in the beautiful countryside for ages.
What was the diet of the people during the war?
Most of the food had to be used sparingly and people needed rationing coupons to get the food they wanted. Often people queued for hours not knowing if the food they wanted was in the shop. As fresh food became harder to get people were given powdered food like milk, eggs and potatoes. People also ate margarine for the first time, and then new foods called Spam and Corned beef were eaten. None of these were as healthy as the foods they replaced.
What was it like in the Blitz during 1940?
The appearance of German bombers in the skies over London during the afternoon of September 7, 1940 indicated a planned shift in Hitler’s attempt to subdue Great Britain. The beginning of the Blitz was of September 7, 1940. The Blitz was a period of intense bombing of London and other cities that continued until the following May. For the next 57 days in a row, London was bombed either during the day or at night. Fires consumed many portions of the city. Residents looked for shelter wherever they could find it and many fled to the Underground stations that sheltered as many as 177,000 people during the night. In the worst single incident, 450 were killed when a bomb destroyed a school being used as an air raid shelter. Londoners and the world were introduced to a new weapon of terror and destruction in the arsenal of twentieth century warfare. The Blitz ended on May 11, 1941 when Hitler called off the raids in order to move his bombers east in preparation for Germany’s invasion of Russia.

As the cyclone approaches Rowville
Everyone runs inside.
From the rain the hail and the dust,
You really cannot hide.
The winds are starting to get rough
Like a grizzly big brown bear
With claws like knives and teeth like swords.
Its giving you a scare.
The winds are howling like a woof
And the hail is just like golf balls.
The house is shaking like a quake
And the girls are hugging their dolls.
Now its something quiet,
So quiet that I cannot hear the howling wind and golf balls
Crashing from God’s rear
Everything is over, the storm has gone away
Nothing can remove the path, that the storm has left today.
